Object Place (for Astor Place)

Curated by DoT Arts and Events NYC Department of Transportation

Object Place (for Astor Place) is a participatory work that heightens awareness of the inner energy of a place, objects and people.  The audience will meet the Astor Place ‘Rest Stop’ and processes en masse, following prompts, to the renowned cube sculpture by Bernard (Tony) Rosenthal. Five performers guide the audience in an interactive experience bringing attention to traveling bodies in time. What do we leave behind as we move? The goal is to provide an experience of being a witness and participant in the evolutions of a changeable space in real time.
