Site Specific Work

What is the nature of a site? How can dance bring forward and deepen the way we experience a place? Finding the place and excavating its essence Oberfelder uses movement and theatrical juxtapositions to elicit theatrical contexts. An alternative to a proscenium views, Oberfelder's site specific choreography integrates dance and place, communities, and time based art.

Examples:

  • New 4Chambers - The concept is to create an intimate spatial environment within a subdivided gallery with corridors functioning as arteries that lead to four discreet chambers, each with its own focus. Watch Video
